The Horizon Offsite team is delighted to be working with MMD Construction (Cork) Ltd to deliver a two-storey, 43,602 sq.ft. building at Heather House, Gurranabraher in Cork.

Heather House is an existing 34-bed, residential building that was originally built in 2008 at St Mary’s Health Campus in Cork City. In 2021, MMD Construction was contracted to deliver a fast-track design and build 60-bed extension to the existing nursing unit. This included the delivery of associated ancillary services and car parking.

This 60-bed extension and site works have been designed in accordance with new HSE Model Brief over two floors and the development, when complete, will provide both long and short stay residential accommodation for older persons. You can read more about the project at https://www.mmd.ie/project/heather-house-fast-track-design-build/.

For Horizon Offsite, the light gauge steel construction took 12 weeks to complete. Our team also added an Aquapanel render system to the exterior of the building.
